Rooftop Revolutionaries

I shot the band Rooftop Revolutionaries today.  I love their classic, solid Rock and Roll.  The neighbors lined up to watch the free concert while we shot their music video.

For Bryan Hearns

I was lucky enough to shoot some of the new Spring '11 pieces from the Bryan Hearns collection.  I saw them on the runway and loved every minute of it, but it was a special treat to see the clothes up close.  They are impeccably made, and the fabric is surprising and unique.  I hope to work with this young talent again very soon.  Here are some previews from our shoot!

On set with Gary Sinise

I assisted a video shoot for the Travis Manion Foundation a few weeks back, starring Gary Sinise!  He was humble, kind and patient.  What a gentleman!  I just had to take a picture with him.  Doesn't he look fantastic?

A nice review from Corridor 40 Magazine

Corridor 40

"Photographer Ari Abramczyk’s choice underwater settings make for ethereal, multifaceted, breathtaking images that border on the surreal. While a majority of the photographs portray the models as childlike nymphs in womb-like security blankets, other images show a bit of humor; for example, she captured one model taking the plunge while wearing a fur coat and stilettos. While it would undoubtedly be difficult to capture “the perfect moment” underwater, it is Abramczyk’s specialty; she adds dimension with color reflections, high-fashion pieces and striking light sources to consistently execute beautiful images. For Abramczyk, water is not an obstacle, but a thrilling force of nature-slash-world of its own that enhances, contorts and inspires."

I don't know about the womb part, but, otherwise, a nice review!

MOPLA Gallery Show

One of my underwater images was chosen to appear in this years Month of Photography LA Group Show at Smashbox Studio in LA.  It was printed 40''x40'' and then mounted and coated in resin to warp it. It was hung on the only black wall in the gallery which made it pop right out.  These images are from the opening night.  There were tons of people, food and wine and amazing work.  I am very honored to have my work displayed alongside these talented artists!  That's me next to the print sporting Max Azria.
